Computer Hardware Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Hardware Troubleshooting and Repairs

• Fixing Minor Hardware Issues: Perform troubleshooting and repair of desktop computers and printers. This may include fixing issues like hardware malfunctions, faulty connections, power failures, and more.
• Card-Level Troubleshooting: Apply your knowledge of card-level components to address common issues that occur within desktops and printers.
• System Maintenance: Regularly maintain desktop computers and printers by performing routine checks, cleaning components, and replacing faulty parts as required to ensure optimal performance.

2. System Configuration and Setup

• Desktop Setup and Installation: Assist in setting up new desktop systems, installing necessary hardware, ensuring all components are functioning correctly.
• Printer Setup and Configuration: Help in configuring and troubleshooting printers, including ensuring proper connectivity and addressing any errors or malfunctions.

3. Assisting Senior Engineers

• Support and Assistance: Work closely with senior engineers to resolve complex issues, assist in ongoing projects, and learn advanced techniques in hardware troubleshooting and repairs.
• Learning from Experts: This role will provide the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of computer hardware engineering under the guidance of experienced professionals.

4. Documentation and Reporting

• Track Issues: Maintain accurate records of hardware issues, repairs, and parts used. Document troubleshooting steps and solutions provided.
• Report Problems: Inform the senior engineers about recurring issues or any potential system failures that may need further attention.

5. Hardware Inventory Management

• Inventory Support: Assist in tracking the inventory of spare parts, such as motherboards, RAM, hard drives, and printers, ensuring that the right parts are available when needed.
• Parts Replacement: Help replace damaged or outdated hardware parts under supervision.

6. System Monitoring

• Ensure System Health: Regularly monitor the performance of desktop computers and printers to ensure everything is running smoothly, reporting any inconsistencies or potential issues to senior engineers.
