Required CNC Operator - Pune

A CNC Operator is a skilled technician responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision components used in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, medical, and various other industries. CNC Operators set up, run, monitor, and maintain machines that cut, shape, and finish metal, plastic, or other materials according to technical specifications and blueprints.

This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation
   • Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes, mills, routers, or grinders to perform cutting, drilling, or shaping operations.
   • Load raw materials into the machine and secure them properly to ensure stability during operation.
   • Start machine cycles and monitor operations to ensure precision and adherence to specifications.
2. Reading Technical Drawings
   • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to understand dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
   • Translate drawings into machine instructions or select appropriate pre-programmed codes.
3. Tooling and Setup
   • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine attachments for the job.
   • Install tools and make necessary adjustments for speed, feed, and depth of cut.
   • Perform test runs and modify settings as required to achieve desired results.
4. Quality Control
   • Measure and inspect finished products using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM machines.
   • Compare dimensions to ensure they match blueprint tolerances and make any required adjustments.
   • Identify and correct minor machine malfunctions or imperfections in the final output.
5. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
   • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning machines, changing tools, and checking coolant levels.
   • Diagnose issues and report mechanical failures or safety hazards to supervisors or maintenance staff.
   • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in line with safety and 5S standards.
6. Record-Keeping and Reporting
   • Maintain accurate records of machine operations, part numbers, batch numbers, and production quantities.
   • Report any production delays, quality issues, or equipment malfunctions to the relevant departments.
   • Follow all safety guidelines, wear protective gear, and participate in safety meetings or drills.
7. Team Collaboration
   • Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and quality control inspectors to meet production goals.
   • Support team members in managing workload and maintaining continuous workflow in the machine shop.
