Food Safety Officer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Food Safety Compliance & Inspection:

• Conduct inspections of food production facilities, processing plants, restaurants, and distribution centers .
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) regulations and other legal requirements.
• Identify and report food safety violations and hazards .
• Collect and analyze food samples for quality and safety testing .

2. Quality Control & Risk Assessment:

• Implement food safety management systems (FSMS), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) .
• Assess risks associated with food contamination, adulteration, and hygiene practices .
• Recommend corrective actions and improvements to prevent foodborne illnesses.

3. Training & Awareness Programs:

• Educate and train food business operators, kitchen staff, and manufacturers on food safety regulations.
• Conduct workshops on hygiene practices, handling of raw materials, and storage protocols .
• Develop and distribute food safety guidelines and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) .

4. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain records of food safety inspections, compliance reports, and audit findings .
• Prepare detailed reports on safety violations, corrective measures, and legal actions .
• Assist in food safety certifications and licensing procedures .

5. Regulatory Coordination & Public Health:

• Collaborate with government agencies, health departments, and food safety authorities .
• Address consumer complaints related to food quality and safety issues .
• Support initiatives to improve nutrition standards and food quality policies .
