Senior IT Systems Administrator

Job Summary
The ATS Corporate IT department is responsible for the delivery of critical enterprise:wide IT systems and services. As a member of the IT Infrastructure team, the incumbent is responsible for implementing a wide variety of technical solutions and managing day:to:day operations to ensure the ongoing availability, reliability and security of the ATS information assets in a cost:effective manner.
The Systems Administrator role is responsible for a wide variety of information technologies, including Active Directory, Office 365, Azure, Cloud Services, Windows Servers, Storage Area Network (SAN), backup systems, virtualized server (VMware, Hyper:V), database (MS SQL), MDM, system monitoring, certificates, and Automation software. The role requires some project management skills as the incumbent will need to plan and execute several different projects. The role is also involved in Data Centre infrastructure operations such as the UPS, power distribution, cooling systems and physical security devices at our different data centers.
Responsibilities
:
Manage and support enterprise hardware and software services, including Active Directory, Azure, Windows Servers, Office 365, SAN, SFTP, JIRA, and ERP.
:
Maintain system monitoring tools, ensuring anti:virus, MDM, and core applications are operational.
:
Conduct regular site checks and audits at ATS Data Centers in Southern Ontario.
:
Perform infrastructure operations tasks, including rack and cable management, failed drive replacements, and equipment audits.
:
Implement platform:level security measures per corporate policies and participate in scheduled security compliance audits.
:
Lead assigned projects, handling project proposals, detailed planning, budgeting, funding requests, and status reporting.
:
Engage in M and A projects as needed, with up to 10 travel.
:
Oversee hardware and software lifecycle management, including planning, selection, and upgrades.
:
Deploy and manage physical, virtual, and IaaS servers as required, ensuring device registration and licensing compliance.
:
Maintain documentation for systems, standards, and operational procedures.
:
Participate in annual disaster recovery plan (DRP) tests to meet business and regulatory requirements.
:
Ensure compliance with IT policies, including information security and change control, adhering to the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
:
Act as Level 2 support, troubleshooting critical incidents and collaborating with IT and business teams.
:
Manage and track incident tickets, ensuring SLA compliance and conducting root cause analysis.
Education Qualifications
:
Any engineering degree or college diploma in a related discipline or relevant work experience in the IT Systems Administration and IT Operations field.
:
Certification such as Microsoft, Azure, VMware or other similar certifications relating to the job functions are desirable.
Knowledge and Experience
:
8 years ' experience as a Systems Administrator
:
Knowledge of server platforms, virtualization, storage, certificates, and Microsoft operating systems.
:
Experience with Cloud Technologies such as Azure, Office 365, etc.
:
Experience with PowerShell scripting
:
Experience supporting mobile device management systems.
:
Knowledge of technical management processes (change control, disaster recovery planning, security administration and best practices)
:
Knowledge of related Windows Server, network, and operations disciplines
:
Knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies across a broad range of IT disciplines, including, hardware, software, networking, operating systems, applications development and database management.
