Hadoop Application Developer - Big Data Technologies (10-15 Yrs) Chennai (Systems/Product Software)

Job Title : Hadoop Application Developer Location : Chennai The purpose of this AVP role is to recruit an experienced Hadoop Developer with a proven track record of spearheading on-time on-budget quality deliveries. What will you be doing? - Be involved in all aspects of analysis, design, implementation and deployment of all software related to the core data applications - Design and implement server side solutions in Hadoop and front end GUI in Tableau/Spotfire - Manage business expectations and liaise with FO IT, Risk Managers and Auditors - Implementation of data service layer in Hadoop - Manage and deliver complex projects in collaboration with global teams across Barclays to develop new or enhance existing systems What were looking for : - Work Experience in Java, Unix and Big data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Spark) with in depth knowledge of Multi-threaded, high throughput, low-latency design of Java service components - Good understanding of source control, testing, release management, and other software development practices. Strong conceptual knowledge of SQL for data analysis - Demonstrate strong understanding of design patterns, object-oriented design principles and/or database design fundamentals - Experience with Git/Stash/JIRA/Nexus for source and version control, Autosys for batch control Skills that will help you in the role : - Understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC phases with strong experience with unit testing/test driven development/continuous integration - Good spoken and written communication skills, self-starter, proactive, ready to take on responsibility and able to work with minimal guidance - Previous experience in investment banking, or in the financial industry, or Knowledge of finance, investment banking, and/or trading - Analyse requirements to find the most appropriate technical solution, contribute to the overall system design Please feel free to call on : Sanjani Mehrotra 9711621740
