Function Description : - Serving as a member of Information Security Analytics team that creates data driven products and services for Information Security and IT Risk customers Purpose of the Role : Maturing the analytics capabilities and strengthening Data Science as a discipline in the team Responsibilities : - Applying statistical techniques, data mining and machine learning to create actionable insights from 30 different sources with few of them streaming data at 30K events/sec in the Big data infrastructure - Working on use cases related to User behavior analytics, anomaly detection, threat prediction, risk modeling etc Qualifications : Critical Factors to Success : - Build cutting edge customized Data Science algorithms to enhance modeling accuracy and efficiency - Support the data science pipeline from use case inception to implementation Past Experience : - Demonstrated ability to apply cutting edge statistical techniques to business problems and to leverage external thinking (from academia and/or other industries) Academic Background : - Advanced degree in following areas with atleast 5-10 years of Data Science experience: Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Social Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related quantitative fields Functional Skills/Capabilities : - Strong analytical and problem-solving experience, with the ability to break-down a complex problem into components and solve them using quantitative analysis - Creativity to go beyond current tools to deliver the best solution to the problem Technical Skills/Capabilities : - Proven Experience using traditional statistical techniques such as R, SQL, Python as well as Big Data tools and platforms (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Spark) required - Strong working knowledge of basic predictive modeling and supervised/unsupervised machine learning, for example, K nearest neighbor (KNN), collaborative filtering, support vector machines (SVM), neural networks, association rules, SVD (singular value decomposition), and matrix factorization methods, K-Means clustering etc - Strong working knowledge of probabilistic models like Bayesian networks, Markov chain etc.
