Setting up: Assembling components for welding with hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures  Using powered saws and angle grinders to prepare pieces and cut material to exact specifications Aligning: Aligning components with calipers and rulers  Welding equipment: Choosing the right welding apparatus or technique in accordance with specifications Positions for welding: components can be welded vertically, horizontally, or overhead. Repairing: To fix machinery and other parts, weld sections together and fill up gaps.
