What is the current status of placements in BMSCE & BMSIT the 2018 graduating batch

We provide direct admission in BMS College of engineering BMSCE through management quota seats contact 01

Nearly 30 companies visited till now and out of which nearly 25 are of CSE. I will write in terms of Computer Science Placements.

In slot 1 four companies came :-
Directi, Paypal, Amazon, DeShaw

Directi didn t pick anyone ( 3 were picked for interviews out of 1800 students who gave tests, all got rejected in last round ) CTC 27 LPA

Paypal hired 7 ( 2 full time and 5 interns ) CTC 21 LPA ( SDE Profile)

Amazon hired 5 ( 3 full time and 2 interns ) CTC 27 LPA (SDE Profile)

DeShaw hired 2 ( Full time + internship) CTC 29.5 LPA (QA Testing Profile)

After that in Super Dream (10+LPA) these companies came:-
Morgan stanley, Cisco, Mckinsey, Oyo Rooms, Barclays, Amagi, Tapzo, FutureFirst, SAP, Okutech etc.

In Dream :-
HP, Nutanix, Delloite, Schneider Electric etc.

Till now nearly 100+ students are placed out of which 85+ are from CSE and nearly 10 -15 are from IT

I was not able to sit in DeShaw due to 9 Pointer Criteria ( I m 8.4) .I was rejected in Paypal in my first interview of my life. I am one of the 3 guys who got rejected in Directi in last round. I got placed in Amazon as Full time :D

This year Placements are pretty good in terms of numbers at BMSCE. Although I cannot say the exact figures for our seniors and compare them with our batch. Some companies have taken students in larger numbers then they used to take previously from our college.

Morgan Stanley has taken overall 7 students, whereas previously it was less.
Amazon had taken only 2 students last year, but this time they have taken 5 students.
CodeNation postponed the date but it has taken 2 students from Chennai campus (PPO).
Tapzo (Helpchat) has taken 6 students this year, whereas I don t know exact figure from last year, but it was less than this for sure.
Same goes with other super dream companies, such as PayPal, Cisco, Mckinsey & etc.
Tips for juniors if they re serious about Super Dream companies:

As mentioned in above answers about CGPA, It becomes mandatory that you keep it above 8.5 or 8.7 for juniors (strength is more for your batch than ours). This is the first elimination process by the company. not getting selected is still better than not eligible for selection process you ve to believe me, it hurts.
Start Coding from today itself. It s okay to be not in top coders among your batch. You need to be decent at coding skills. The first round taken by all super dream companies is the Coding round which is generally on Hackerrank, Hackerearth etc.
It is myth that D.P. is not asked by companies. Obviously, you can solve questions using your own way. But to be more specific, I repeat, DP is their favourite.
For further rounds, it depends on company to company, whether they want Algorithmic round or technical round consisting of questions from ( OS, Networks, DBMS). You need to be well versed with the theoretical topics. Algorithms: Trees, BFS, DFS, Sorting, Searching & all basic concepts are must.
No one is going to see your so called Resume before 2nd round. So don t be overconfident on your resume / profile that you ve built over 4 years. It s obviously good that you ve done awesome Internships, Projects. They will definitely help you, but for that you ve to clear the 1st round.
Last but not the least, do not loose hope, their are plenty of opportunities for CSE guys (to be more specific). Adding to above said, you cannot always get selected on only basis of your technical skills. Technical skills are must, with your luck or your day.
For Dream companies, Aptitude is the key. No coding rounds, it s just Aptitude and technical MCQ is their first round .
